| System i Domino Edition
The System i Domino Edition combines excellent price/performance
targeted for Lotus workloads with the reliability, manageability,
and low cost of ownership that have made the System i family so
successful as a Domino server platform.
Flexibility
The Domino Edition isn't just for mail, or even just for Domino
applications. You can leverage the unique subsystem architecture
of i5/OS to run e-mail, Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing
(Sametime), Team Workspace (QuickPlace), Document Manager (Domino.Doc),
and other Domino-based applications. You can add Portal, Web-faced
applications, or any other non-5250 application. You also can
activate one or both of the additional processors to run Linux
or AIX or i5/OS.
Productdetails
The System i Domino Edition includes two activated processors
and two licenses entitlements for i5/OS. It provides the capability
to activate one or two additional processors (to a maximum of
four processors). Both deskside and rack configurations are available.
The hardware configuration capabilties of a Domino Edition server
(memory, disk, communications adapters, etc.) are the same as
the capabilities for the IBM System i 550 Standard Edition.
Note: To be eligible to purchase a Domino Edition server, a customer
must purchase or already own licenses for the required Lotus software
or must be replacing a Dedicated Server for Domino server (DSD)
or an iSeries for Domino server. The Lotus client license requirement
can be met with a combination of licenses for Notes clients, Domino
Web Access clients, Sametime clients, QuickPlace clients, or Portal.
